The Reward of Feeding a Fasting Person
Ramadan is a month of mercy, generosity, and multiplied rewards. Among the most beautiful acts of worship during this blessed month is feeding someone who is fasting.
The Prophet ﷺ taught that whoever provides Iftar for a fasting person will receive a reward equal to theirs — without reducing the fasting person’s reward in the slightest.
This shows the incredible mercy and generosity of Allah.
Why Is Feeding a Fasting Person So Rewarding?
Fasting requires patience, discipline, and sincerity. When someone helps a fasting person break their fast, they share in that reward.
Even something small — like a date or a sip of water — can carry immense blessings when given sincerely for Allah.
This act:
-
Multiplies rewards
-
Strengthens community bonds
-
Supports those in need
-
Spreads love and unity
More Than Just Food
Providing Iftar is not only about offering a meal. It is about caring for others, thinking about their needs, and sharing what Allah has given us.
It is a reminder that Ramadan is not only about personal worship — it is also about uplifting others.
Teaching Children the Value of Generosity
At Quran Gems Academy, we encourage families to involve children in preparing or sharing Iftar meals.
Parents can:
-
Let children help prepare food packages
-
Encourage them to share part of their allowance
-
Teach them the reward of giving
-
Make dua together before distributing food
These small actions build compassion, gratitude, and strong Islamic character.
The Ripple Effect of Kindness
When one family feeds another, it creates a chain of generosity. The act of giving inspires others to give.
Ramadan becomes a month of shared blessings and collective reward.
A Reward That Continues
Feeding a fasting person is a simple act — but its reward may continue far beyond Ramadan. Every sincere act done for Allah leaves a lasting impact in both this life and the Hereafter.
Growing with Faith at Quran Gems Academy
At Quran Gems Academy, we nurture both knowledge and character. By teaching children the beauty of generosity, we help them grow into compassionate, responsible individuals who understand the true spirit of Ramadan.
